Raw Cacao Benefits : High In Complex Antioxidants

The first interest of raw cacao is that it has not been heated. We know that cooking greatly affects vitamins and minerals. Consume raw cacao, it is therefore to offer the best of this plant! But that's not all. Cocoa contains more than 700 chemical compounds, including complex antioxidants, such as polyphenols, flavonoids, catechins and so on. The key: a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system. These molecules help lower the risk of stroke or infarction, help lower blood pressure and bad cholesterol, and contribute to better blood circulation. Another interesting action: a proven anti-aging effect, antioxidants protecting cells from premature oxidation.

ANTI-STRESS

Raw cacao boosts the production of serotonin, the neuromediator of appeasement. It is therefore perfect for a good balance of the nervous system and can help those who have mood swings, especially in case of premenstrual syndrome, when the serotonin level goes down. It is also one of the richest foods in magnesium, known for its effects on stress. Two teaspoons of raw cocoa powder contain 52 mg of magnesium or 14% of the recommended daily intake.

RAW CACAO BENEFITS

Offering raw cacao also means refilling phenylalanine, an amino acid that promotes alertness and memory, as well as theobromine, a chemical compound that inhibits fatigue. It also boosts libido and morale, thanks to anandamide, a euphoric molecule. However, be careful not to consume too often, this stimulant of the nervous system can, at high dose, irritate.

CONTRAINDICATIONS?

It is best not to abuse this nugget, especially if you are nervous. Consume raw cocoa two or three times a week is fine. As often, we must not abuse anything, but in small doses, it is excellent. I advise against it in case of liver weakness or during detox: with its wealth of alkaloids and tannins, it can prevent the liver from performing its detoxification work. Prefer it bio, to avoid in particular the presence of cadmium, a toxic heavy metal, and if possible ethical, in order to protect the local producers and our ecosystem.

DIFFERENT FORMS OF RAW CACAO

Raw cacao is sold in various forms, on the shelves of health food stores.

- In splinters bean: to sprinkle on our compotes, mueslis ...
- In whole beans: which can be nibbled as is.
- In tablet: it is then chocolate made with a raw cocoa bean.
- Powdered: to prepare a hot cocoa or to cook ...
