Benefits Of Grapes: Powerful Fruit For Your Body

Grapes are the fruit of energy, they provide 110 kcal for a medium-sized bunch, mainly thanks to fast-acting sugars. Rich in refreshing juice, it brings interesting quantities of minerals (in particular potassium) and vitamins of group B.

Not to mention the presence of substances "vitamin P" (anthocyanin pigments and polyphenols) that increase the activity of vitamin C and have a protective action on the cardiovascular system.

The vitamin properties of grapes depend in part on the variety, but also largely on color: black grapes are generally richer in B and P vitamins than white grapes.

The grape has accompanied man since the dawn of time ... Its famous health compound "Resveratrol" has proven its involvement in the protection against cancer, heart (antihypertension, antiplatelet), immune and anti-aging.

BIO OR NOTHING

Grapes are one of the most pesticide-treated fruits. In addition, resveratrol is concentrated in the skin, so it's out of the question to peel its grains (anyway, who would have the patience?). This polyphenol is naturally secreted to protect the vine from a fungus, Botrytis cinerea. As a result, clusters treated with fungicides provide little.

GRAPES CURE

Traditionally, elders made a grape cure each beginning of autumn, mainly to prevent the joint pain of the bad season. In reality, there are many benefits: hepatic drainage and the diuretic (water + potassium), remineralization (magnesium, calcium ...), acid-base balancing, etc.

- Principle: one day a week, we eat only grapes, at will. Another option is to eat a cluster at 11 o'clock and 18 o'clock for a few weeks and keep three light meals. Not recommended for diabetics in both cases because of the high sugar content of the grapes!

- Result: lightened complexion, cleansed skin, deep and non-aggressive renal and hepatic drainage, and regenerated intestines.

HOW CAN YOU CONSUME IT?

- Fresh: To crunch raw as a dessert, to slip into sweet-salty salads or fruit salads, or to lightly return to the pan in a little oil, to accompany poultry.

- Dry: Slip into muesli, semolina cakes, rice pudding (can be rehydrated in hot tea a few hours before use them). Dehydration converts fructose into fructans, fibers that trap cholesterol.

SOME OTHER IDEAS FOR EVERY DAY

- Fruit salad: Black and white grapes, with dice of apples and pears, walnuts, clementine wedges and a few pinches of gingerbread spices.

- Homemade grapes: Choose large seedless red grapes or white (Sultana). Rinse them then dry them and bake them well spread at 50-70°C  for 8 to 9 h (Another possibility: Pass them in a dehydrator).

RECIPES

- Quail with grapes: Stuff each quail with grapes and garlic. Pack the quails into thin slices of smoked bacon and roast them in casseroles. Remove them from the casserole. Brown chopped onion, bacon and chopped grapes.

- Macaroon grapes: Sprinkle grapes in individual ramekins. Put some macaroons in each ramekin and pass them under the grill for a few moments. Enjoy tepid, as is or accompanied by a quenelle of ice cream nougat.
